Citizens Advice Ash provides a free, independent and impartial advice service to the residents of Ash, Ash Green, Ash Vale and surrounding areas. We are a successful and highly effective team of 7 staff and 25 volunteers who are committed to Citizens Advice. We score consistently highly for quality of advice and regularly exceed our delivery targets across our service and projects. Each year we help over 1,300 clients to find a way forward with their problems in areas such as debt, benefits, housing and relationships, and we have a specialist money advice service which serves the whole of the Borough of Guildford.
We are redesigning our service as Covid lockdown eases, and our aim is to continue to adapt our service delivery model to provide modern and accessible services across all channels, to meet the needs of all our clients, including the most vulnerable and those who are digitally excluded.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Money Advice and Benefits Caseworker as part of a highly skilled and experienced casework team providing money and benefits advice to prevent homelessness across the borough of Guildford. You will also support our core advice service as required and contribute to maintaining our quality of advice and inclusive culture.
You are likely to be working in a Citizens Advice environment or one very similar, as a caseworker or specialist. You will be able to demonstrate successful experience of providing detailed advice in an organisation where standards, quality and procedures are important. Customer focused; you will have a keen interest in helping clients find a way forward. You will be committed to Supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and our social policy work.

Position: Money Advice and Benefits Caseworker
Location: Ash, Surrey – with the option of some remote working
Salary: £25,500 – £26,500 FTE (depending on experience)
Hours per week: 22.5
Type of contract: Permanent, subject to the continuation of funding
